Ahoy Buccaneers! My name is Susan Saunders, and I am ecstatic to be joining the crew this year at Bryan Road and being your technology teacher. I graduated from NCSU in 2002 with a degree in Psychology, and started working at Combs Elementary in Wake County as a teacher assistant for three years while I finished my teacher certification. I moved to Johnston County where I got my first teaching position. I taught in Johnston County for the past seventeen years in regular classrooms (2nd grade- 4 years and 3rd grade- 5 years) and enhancement classes in both elementary (technology- 6 years) and middle schools (technology- 2 years). I received my Masters in Instructional Technology from UNC Charlotte in 2018. This school year I am looking forward to fostering a love for technology and teaching the students how to be responsible digital citizens.

I am originally from Clinton, NC, but now we live in Clayton, NC. My husband and I have been together for twenty-five years and married for fifteen of those years. We have a four-year-old little girl, Riley, who keeps us very busy, and a thirteen-year-old Boxer. We enjoy traveling and spending time with each other by being outdoors and enjoy hiking, biking, and running.
