I am looking forward to meeting all my HCES eagles this year! This is my second year at HCES,  and my 25th year in public education. After earning my bachelor's degree at Purdue University, I started my career as a middle school English/Language Arts teacher, then earned my M.Ed in counseling at NC State University. While at NCSU, I worked as an academic advisor before settling down as a high school counselor. For 15 years I loved my life as a high school counselor and am now very excited to be working with elementary aged students. My hope is that I can help my students develop positive relationships with others, build a repertoire of useful coping skills for healthy emotional regulation. When I am not at school, you can find me hanging out with my husband and daughter riding bikes, swimming, and traveling. I also love reading, growing flowers and rooting for the Carolina Hurricanes and the Purdue Boilermakers!
