Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. April Beddingfield

My name is April Beddingfield and I am so happy to be teaching 2nd grade at Bryan Road Elementary. I have been in the field of education for over 25 years and have loved each and every year that I’ve worked with children!  I have taught Kindergarten through third grade, been a CCR teacher in special education and I’ve also directed a licensed preschool when my daughters were young.   I knew from high school that I wanted to be a teacher and I truly love being a part of each child’s journey as they are in my classroom.

I believe that all children deserve the opportunity to be in a school environment where they feel loved, respected and encouraged to do their best.  My goal is to create a passion for learning and love for school that lasts a lifetime!

I grew up in northern North Carolina around the Lake Gaston area.  I attended the University of NC at Wilmington and received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  I hold certifications in regular education and Cross Categorical Resource  special education.  I moved to Garner recently to be closer to school and we love living here! I’ll be an “empty nester” this year as my youngest daughter will be attending ECU to pursue a degree in Interior Design.  My oldest daughter will be a senior at UNCW and is majoring in special education. My husband and I enjoy lots of cuddles from our sweet Maltese-Japanese Chin dog named Bella.

Bryan Road Elementary is an amazing school and I am honored to be a part of a team of teachers and staff who strive for excellence and whose goal each day is to create an environment for strong relationships, inclusion, happiness and a love for learning!
