NBCT Early Childhood Music 

My name is Mandy Bailey and I am thrilled to be teaching music at ZES. 2022 is my 25th year as a music educator and my 3rd year at ZES. I am a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Music Education in grades K-12. While at ECU, I played flute in many ensembles and marched 3 years with the Marching Pirates. 

In 2010,  I earned my National Board Certification in Early Childhood Music Education and renewed my certification in 2019. I love creative curriculum development for music and have contributed to many professional educator publications including the NC Governor’s Teacher Network, Music Express Magazine, and MusicK8 magazine. In 2015, I published a book to teach rhythms titled The Rhythm Ninja.

When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, tap dancing, and playing the flute. I am the music director at my church where I love singing, playing the flute and handbells.  My husband, also an ECU graduate, and I have been married 24 years and  have two amazing children. Our daughter will graduate from UNCW this fall with a degree in Elementary Education and our son is a Junior in high school.
