  • College Planning Resources:

Check out the latest updates on ACT, SAT, college admissions and test optional colleges for the 2021-2022 school year:

Big Future by College Board - Big Future includes planning resources, a comprehensive college search engine, test prep and information on the college, scholarship and financial aid application processes.

College Foundation of North Carolina:  CFNC is a great resource on North Carolina colleges for both students and parents.  I will work with students through freshman guidance lessons to create their CFNC accounts.

Brag Sheet - Every student must bring a completed brag sheet to their college meeting with a counselor and a resume.  Also, give this to any teacher you ask to write a letter of recommendation for you.

Sample Resume - You should bring a copy of your resume along with your Brag Sheet to your college meeting with your counselor.  Also, give this to any teacher you ask to write a letter of recommendation for you.

    Academics:

Academic Supports:  Expectations for students in high school are higher for students than in middle school.  Wake STEM Early College High School offers a rigorous academic program.  Students are more successful when they take advantage of academic support including after-school tutoring, Cengage tutoring, and the Graduarte Program.

  • 5-year course plan

All students at Wake STEM take the same core curriculum.  This five year plan shows the courses students take in their time in our program.  Any course for high school credit that helps meet the requirements for a high school diploma are listed here.  No college courses are on the plan but students will have time in their junior, senior, and super senior years to take college courses at NC State University.
