Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Brittany Toolen

Hi everyone! I was born and raised in Denville, New Jersey and moved to North Carolina in 2014. I graduated from Salisbury University in 2013 after studying Early Childhood/ Elementary Education. Shortly after I became highly qualified in English Language Arts and became certified to teach middle and high school students. I taught upper elementary for seven years and then went back to school at East Carolina University where I received my master's degree in School Administration.

My husband Tim and I live in Clayton with our two pitbulls, Annie and Riley. In our free time we enjoy traveling to new destinations, we love experiencing different cultures! We love spending time at the beach, especially Oak Island, and gardening in our backyard.

What excites me about our Environmental Connections magnet theme...

I am so excited to work at a school that focuses on our environment and helps students make connections to it. I am passionate about getting students outside, which has proven to have many developmental benefits for children!
