• Hello parents.  I have a very important message for all families.

Please be sure you are monitoring your students’ grades in PS.  Remote learning is fully underway.  All classes are meeting, and teachers are grading assignments.  Students will be receiving numerical grades for these classes.  It is extremely important for students to understand that if they fail classes it will impact their graduation timeline.  We understand that the COVID 19 closures have created hardships, and we want to do everything we can to support our students.  Each teacher has an hour every afternoon (1:00 – 2:00) set aside to provide additional assistance for any students in their classes. The student doesn’t have to stay the entire hour, they can simply drop in to ask questions and get help, then leave.  Again, this is available every day from 1-2 and many teachers have also offered additional times for their students to get individual help.

Please make sure your student is taking advantage of that help if they are struggling in a class.  It has been very helpful for the students that are using it. Progress reports will be going out to families soon with updated grades and we want to be sure students understand the importance of attending class and keeping up with their course assignments on a daily basis.  The vast majority of our students are attending class, keeping up with assignments, and earning credits.  However, I am concerned with those students who are not engaging and are falling behind in their coursework.  The time to address that is now before they get too far behind to recover credits.

Thank you in advance for making sure your student is keeping up with their grades and their coursework.

As always, should you have questions or concerns, please give us a call at 919-856-7710.
