2023-24 ELECTIVE COURSE
OPTIONS FOR RISING ALL GRADE
STUDENTS - Hilburn Academy
Elective courses are not required subject
areas like reading and math but are
optional courses that may be of interest to
your child. Each middle school offers
unique elective courses that your child can
choose to take. The elective courses listed
below are options for rising 7th & 8th
grade students. If students choose
Band as an elective, they will select 3
other primary electives and 2 alternate
electives. If students are not choosing
Band, they will choose 5 primary electives,
and 2 alternate electives. Schools will
guide students through selecting elective
preferences through their student
PowerSchool account. Students will also
choose alternate courses as a back-up
plan.

availability of elective courses is
dependent upon each school’s master
schedule and resources, and choosing an
elective does not guarantee its
availability in your child’s individual
schedule.**
