Additionally, we want to SHOUT OUT Dr. Duvall and our amazing student musicians for offering entertainment throughout the night.
All-District Band -Congratulations to seventh graders Aiden Rivera, Charlie Deaton, and Jack Mayer who auditioned for All-District Band along with 700+ students. All three students made some of the highest scores in their sections and will participate in the All-District Clinic and Concert Jan. 31-Feb. 1. Aiden and Charlie were the top two scores among percussionists in the district and therefore qualify to audition for All-State Band in March. Way to go, Chargers!
AFMS had three winners at the county-level judging in this year’s Reflections Arts Program! Reagan Krupa won second place in the Dance category, Ezabel Dipu received honorable mention in the Dance category, and Jamie Bossert earned honorable mention in the Visual Arts category. Congratulations, students!

Our first annual STEAM Career Fair for 7th grade will be held on Friday, January 24th during electives. Students will choose two sessions to hear Guest Speakers in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math & the Arts. They will learn about their Career and do a hands-on activity with them. If you have any questions, contact our Career Counselor Ms. Guinn or Ms. Morey our AP Intern.
Hoops for Heart-We will be doing our "Hoops for Heart" fundraiser for the American Heart Association at the end of January and all the way through the month of February. Kickoff: January 27th- All classes in the gym

Charger Families-Chargers Engaged in Service is asking for our school families to donate specific items to create "In Friendship Bags." Bags will be donated to the growing number of homeless WCPSS students and other outreach centers. We are excited to participate in this project to help our community. Specifically, C.E.S. has asked teams/ classes to donate items listed below. If you are able to donate an item or two, please send in your donation by January 31st. C.E.S. will be assembling the bags and have them ready to be handed out before Valentine's Day. School Dance-Student Council is hosting their next school dance February 7, 2020 from 7-9pm.
The Neon Night dance will be held in the auxiliary gym. Doors will open at 6:45 to allow for a smoother entrance for students. Drop off and pickup will be based on students’ grade level. Sixth graders will carpool in front of the school and Seventh/ Eighth graders will use the bus lot on the side of the school for carpool. Tickets will be sold during all lunches during the week of February 3-7. Students will be able to purchase at the door the evening of the dance. There will be separate doors for those needing tickets and for those who have already purchased them. Cost for tickets will be $5. Concessions will be sold during the dance as well.
