• Welcome, Patriots!

    On behalf of the faculty and staff at Apex Friendship High School, the student services team would like to take a moment to welcome you!  We are thrilled that you will be joining us for the school year.  We are proud of the many accomplishments the school has had, what we are most proud of is the amazing student body.  Overall they are bright, talented beyond what they know yet, and capable of accomplishing any goal that they are committed to achieving.  We firmly believe that this is a place where EVERY student can be successful.  We believe it is a place where you/your student will be successful.

    Included on this page are resources to support you in having a great start at Apex Friendship High!  Amongst those resources are people at our school that are happy to help as you move through the school year.  If you are ever unsure of who to send your question to, please feel free to reach out to the student services secretary and we will be happy to connect you with the right resource.

  • Who to Contact

    It's always our goal at AFHS to be responsive to any need.  The links below should take you to key resources and information.

    • Who is my counselor?

    Counselors are divided into specific caseloads.  One counselor work with the same students and are assigned by students last name in the alpha. This ensures a strong transition to high school and an opportunity for the students and counselors to get to know eachother through graduation.   CLICK HERE to view the counselor assignments and others within Student Services who can assist you.  Note that counselors are out during the summer with the exception of our Dean of Students, Ms. Kari Kite, who is happy to help with any question.

    • Which administrator should I talk with about ...?

    The administrative team works collaborative on many issues.  They are divided along the same student alphabet as the counselors.        

    • What if my student has an IEP?  

    Our special education department chair is Christina Ammerman (cammerman@wcpss.net, (919) 694-0500 ext. 20031.  Ms. Ammerman will work with registrations and will assign your student to a case manager.  Please feel free to reach out to her with questions regarding your students IEP once you are registered.

    • What if my student has a 504 Plan?

    Your student's counselor will be their 504 Plan manager.  If your student is in need of creating a 504 Plan you will meet with Ms. Reno to originate the plan. 



    Apex Friendship High fields varsity and junior varsity teams throughout the school year.  Coach Matt Clifton is our Athletic Director and can be your primary point of contact on all issues related to athletics.  It is strongly suggested that you join the Twitter page for the athletic sport your child is participating in. Ticket to Play, Try-Out information and important announcements are usually communicated through each teams Twitter page. You may also find the following resources helpful:


    Clubs & Student Activities

    There is a wide variety of student activities at Apex Friendship High!  Clubs typically meet during our STAR Lunch time.     Calendars & School Events

    One of the great things about high school is that there are many things going on all the time.  The front page of the website has the weekly calendar as well as the important "Time Sensitive" section that outlines action items coming up in the near future.     Please check your settings to ensure that you receive the latest communication from AFHS. You are responsible for checking the AFHS HOME page for important time sensitive information.

    Principal's Phone Message

    This phone message is sent to all Patriot families unless otherwise noted.  The phone message is typically used for urgent messages, not regular updates.  

    Principals Weekly Message (Parent Communication)
    Parents and students can sign up for the weekly email by having their email address listed in PowerSchool.  It goes to families every week and includes detailed information and links for upcoming events and reminders of past announcements. Interested in reading past emails?

    Student Email 

    Each student is assigned an email account that ends with @students.wcpss.net. Students are encouraged to check their student email accounts daily for important information. 

    Information is also shared through the school's Twitter accounts.

    Morning Announcements

    Morning Announcements are shared with students each day at the beginning of 2nd period.
