    Mr. Johnson, Mrs. McKeon and all the student council students and parents who put on a fabulous dance Friday night. Thank you to all the parents who sold dance tickets during the lunch hours this week.

    Shout Out to the PE department for planning our first Pep Rally. We recognized all our fall athletes at this event on Thursday. 

    Congratulations to 7th graders Charlie Deaton and Jack Mayer who auditioned for and made the Wake County All-County Band! These students competed against over 500 middle school musicians from across WCPSS and have earned a spot in the 2019 All-County Clinic and Concert to be held Nov. 14-15 at Martin Middle School! Go Charger musicians!

    Truck Career Fair:

    Thursday October 31st, 6th grade students will be participating in a Career Truck Fair. Students will have the opportunity to listen to 12 personnel that operate a variety of vehicles and machinery. They will also learn more about these careers and the tasks they perform. 

    SOCKtober at AFMS.  During the entire month of October, students and staff are asked to donate as many pairs of new socks as possible.  All donated socks will be given to "Note in the Pocket," an organization which helps Wake County students in need.  The goal once again is to collect 5,000 pairs of new socks before October 31st.

    November 1st – Teacher Workday, no school for students. 

    Veterans Day Celebration:


    Our second annual Veterans Day Celebration is just around the corner. 

    Parents, siblings, and/or grandparents of our students that are Veterans or currently serve in the military are invited to the attend the event scheduled for Friday, November 8th, at 8:10 AM in the gymnasium.

    8th Grade Parents: There will be an optional informational interest meeting for our 8th Grade Field Trip to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, November 12th at 6:00pm in the auditorium.
