Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Iris Kagore and I am a native of Fayetteville NC. I graduated HS in 1992 from E.E. Smith Senior High. I continued my education at Fayetteville State University where I majored in Sociology and Social Work. I graduated from FSU in 1996 and am currently working toward my Masters Degree in Social Work.
I value family so I decided to continue with the family business and operate two restaurants owned by my parents. The Fishing Pier Seafood Market and Restaurant and V.I.P Chicken and Deli which acronyms stood for Veronda (sister) Iris and Patricia (mother).
When my parents retired, I wanted to fulfill a desire of my own and attend Cosmetology school. It was later in life when I decided to teach. I am a National Board-Certified Teacher specializing in Exceptional Needs/Early Childhood Through Young Adulthood. I have been teaching for 16 years. I taught Autistic children for 8 years in Cumberland County, 2 years of Special Education Inclusion Math and Reading in the General Education setting. I met my husband Feuster Kagore and moved to Chapel Hill where I continued to teach in Durham for 6 years as an Inclusion Math Teacher and Intellectual Disabled Moderate in the separate setting. I transferred to Wake County where I continue to work with the Special Needs population.
As you can see, I really enjoy and find it an honor to teach special needs .I am a patient person that has a genuine desire to help others. I have a fun, playful and upbeat sense of humor that is enjoyed by all that know me. In my free time I enjoy singing as one of the lead singers in my church choir, cooking, watching action movies, listening to music, traveling and landscaping.
