Kudos-We would like to give a big Shout out to Lindsey Evans who will represent AFMS as a top 10 finalist, out of 180 schools, for WCPSS Teacher of the Year! The banquet, hosted by WCPSS, will take place on Thursday, May 9 at the Raleigh Convention Center where they will announce the winner. We are very proud of this dedicated educator, who teaches with passion and models being a life-long learner. Your Charger family will be cheering for you!
Kudos to our awesome art students, Jhalia Lassiter, Isaac Jenkins, Chyanna Bailey, Taylor Jacob, and Anna Praizner who has been selected to represent AFMS at Artsplosure 2019 Student Art Exhibition! This Exhibition is part of Artsplosure 2019 annual Spring Arts festival that takes place in downtown Raleigh. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to have their artwork seen by thousands of festival participants and win cash prizes.

Student Lunches: We are requesting that parents refrain from bringing take-out (restaurant/fast food) for student lunches. Outside vendor food is not allowed in the cafeteria.
Carpool Reminders- Parents in the carpool line in the morning are not to switch lanes after dropping off students. We have had a few close calls, and these can all be avoided by this simple request.
Student Check-Out Reminder- please refrain from checking your child out of school or requesting transportation changes after 2:30 p.m. This is an extremely busy time for us in the main office, as we prepare for student dismissal.
