• Kudos-Thank you to our AFMS Social Emotional Learning committee for planning engaging lessons which are taught by staff members during our advisory time.  We are proud of this whole school initiative to ensure that all students are connected and has an adult they can talk to should the need arise. Additionally, we want to welcome our new chorus teacher, Mr. Steven Olson, to the Charger family.

    Chorus at AFMS-We will be offering Chorus to our students at the beginning of second semester. A form must be completed by the student and signed by the parent to switch an elective class.     KUDOS- Congratulations to our nine semi-finalists who will compete in our first annual AFMS Geography Bee on January 16th.  We are proud of your accomplishment and look forward to recognizing our first ever Charger Geography Bee Champion on that date.

    Apex Friendship High School DECA is hosting an entrepreneurship event on January 25th from 5-8:30 pm at AFMS called Rise to the PEAK. This is an event where students will be able to develop their entrepreneurial mindset, explore CTE career pathways offered in high school, and exercise communication and collaboration skills. Also, dinner will be provided from 5:00-6:00 pm. The event is also free, but the DECA students would like all attendees to bring a new/slightly used book to donate to Read and Feed to help promote literacy.     AIG Testing Window will be Jan. 28-Feb. 8.  Nominations are being accepted for the next testing window.  Please submit your questions or nominations to Mrs. Badger at ebadger@wcpss.net

    Winter School Dance-Our next school dance will take place February 8, 2019.  The theme will be “Winter Wonderland.” Tickets will be $5.00.  We are looking forward to another fun filled evening.  The car-pick up plan for the dance will be the following: 6th grade students will meet in the front of the school and use the carpool lane for pick-up. 7th and 8th grade students will meet in the rear of the school, in the bus loop, for car pick-up. If siblings are attending, and a sibling is a 6th grader, then both should meet in the front of the school.

    Student Check-Out Reminder- please refrain from checking your child out of school or requesting transportation changes after 2:30 p.m.  This is an extremely busy time for us in the main office, as we prepare for student dismissal.
