I graduated from Radford University with a Major in Psychology and Minors in Political Science and French.  After 9 years of working for the Department of Navy I took time off to stay home with our 2 young boys. In 2000, we moved to Holly Springs from Northern Virginia in pursuit of a slower pace for our family.  I began working in Wake County Special Education programs in 2001 and received my Special Education Teaching License from Peace College in 2011.

My experience working with Exceptional Students extends across the continuum to include: separate setting, resource setting, and Co-Teaching in the general education classroom.  Since 2012 my focus has been on serving Exceptional Students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. I look forward daily to building relationships with my students, their families, collaborating with their teachers, overcoming obstacles, and pursuing a quest of lifelong learning. Currently, my husband and I are almost empty nesters with 2 grown boys of whom we are very proud.  In my spare time I am an avid reader, closet chef, lover of the outdoors and traveling.

Hello, my name is Josh Becker and I am very excited to continue my journey in education at Buckhorn Creek! I received B.A. from Niagara University in Elementary Education and am certified to teach K-6  General and Special Education. I also recently completed my M.A. in Executive Leadership at Gardner-Webb.

I moved from upstate New York to North Carolina in 2012 to begin my career in education.  During that time I have very much enjoyed becoming part of the community here in Holly Springs. In addition to teaching I coach volleyball in the spring and tutor over the summer.

When I am not coaching or tutoring I keep myself busy by   participating in Softball, Golf, and Basketball leagues. Traveling to National Parks is also a passion of mine. I have been to 33 parks to date. Visit the Pacific Northwest if you have not yet done so!

Hi! My name is Brooke Little. I’m exciting about joining the Buckhorn Creek team. I’ve lived in the Raleigh area all of my life and love it here! I graduated from Campbell University with my elementary education degree in 2007. Immediately after graduation I began teaching at West Lake Elementary in second grade. After receiving my National boards and Special Education license I decided to leave the regular education classroom and pursue my passion. I have been teaching emotional and behavioral special education for 4 years now and am looking forward to a 5th!

When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two boys. Since I’ve grown up in NC we are fortunate to spend a lot of time surrounded by our extended family and friends. In my down time I enjoy movies, shopping, crafting, and traveling. I look forward to getting to know all of you better this year!
