Ms. Erin Thaler
Ahoy! I am excited to assist our school's curriculum and instructional needs as Instructional Facilitator, as well as support our youngest Buccaneers through Intervention. Bryan Road is one of the most special places to work, learn and grow. I am so proud of the work we have done as a staff and school family since opening our doors in 2018.
Over the course of my career, I have worn many hats in elementary and middle schools. Teaching and learning has always been at the forefront. Initially, I worked as a speech therapist serving PreK-6 graders in Southern New Hampshire. After receiving a Master's of Education in 2006, I joined one of the state's top schools for curriculum and instruction where I taught first and second grade. I also worked closely with the assistant superintendent to transform the district's approach to Professional Development to better meet the needs of teachers. In 2013, my family decided to ditch our snow gear and relocate to North Carolina! Since then, I have taught kindergarten, first and second grades, as well as fourth and fifth grade special education. I loved being part of Bryan Road's inaugural crew in 2018 and humbled to be chosen as its Teacher of Year in 2019.
My husband and I met at Syracuse University and have three boys: Ryan, Jack and Luke, and a furry one named Charlie. As you can imagine, sports play a big part of our lives. When we aren't cheering on our kids or our favorite teams, we love going to the beach and spending time as a family.
