Degrees and Certifications:
M.S./Ed.S. Counseling NCC
Hello!! I am so excited to be a part of the Durant Road Middle School Counseling team this year. I am the 504 contact for the school as well as the track two, sixth grade counselor. I am currently part time, so my schedule can be a little unpredictable. Please check my calendar below for my availability. I am more than happy to talk to you anytime about your student and how I can help them to succeed in middle school. Read a little about me below.
I received my Bachelors in Psychology from UNC Asheville in 2015 and my masters and specialist in education degree from UNC Greensboro in 2017. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and am working on becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor- Associate (LPCA), which means that I am specially trained in counseling and am well-suited to assist your students through a variety of concerns. Before beginning my duties as a counselor at your child's school, I completed over 600 hours of internship experience at a middle school in Alamance County as well as over 100 hours of direct counseling experience in a clinic. Your student is in good hands!
On a more personal scale, I am recently married and live in Raleigh with my husband and two cats, Watson and Clue. In our free time we love to go dancing and exploring the local cuisine. I believe in the power of an education to change lives and I feel incredibly blessed to be able to serve the community through touching students' lives.
I look forward to getting to know you and your student and hopefully working together to create a better community for everyone!
