English as a Second Language
Students who are identified as Limited English Proficient (LEP) are provided with English as a Second Language (ESL) services within the school day. Based on the needs of the student, these services may include co-teaching, push-in support, or small-group lessons outside the student's regular classroom. Testing accommodations may also be provided based on the individual needs of the student. Annually, LEP students will take the ACCESS tests to measure their acquisition of the English language and to inform ESL instruction.
More information regarding ESL instruction can be found on the WCPSS website or by contacting our ESL teacher, Ms. Corrody.
