Degrees and Certifications:

Austin Beal

My name is Austin Beal and this is my eighth-year teaching history and social studies. I previously taught for 6 years in Arizona (3 years in high school and 3 years in middle school) before teaching high school in Wake County after my wife Staci and I moved to the Triangle last year. I currently have a bachelor's in education from Northern Arizona University and am about to complete my master's in teaching and learning from Clemson University.

My passion for education stems from a core belief that we should all pitch in to make the world we share a better place. With this as a starting point, my goal each year is to help students develop their own areas of interest through social studies, and to discover ways in which they can positively impact others through their unique talents. When I'm not teaching, I'm usually doing something outside such as kayaking, scuba diving, hiking, playing soccer or volleyball, or reading a nerdy book. But I also love binging great shows or having a Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings marathon.

I'm looking forward to a great first year at Centennial Magnet and am excited to meet everyone!
