Ms. Lane

I was born in Virginia but grew up traveling because my father was in the Marine Corps. I earned my Bachelors degree in Special Education from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. I taught for nine years in Brunswick County Schools in North Carolina as a Cross Categorical Special Education teacher. Next I was blessed to be able to work as a stay at home mom for 24 years. During the past five years I have worked part time with developmentally disabled adults, assisting them with living independently. I have had the privilege of working as a long term substitute teacher at Salem Elementary since February 2017 and am thrilled to be the new Pre-K teacher! Salem Elementary is hands down the friendliest school that I have ever experienced and I am looking forward to to contributing to this atmosphere of caring and positivism.
Everyone asks how I got the name of Cricket ; when I was learning to crawl my dad said instead of crawling I hopped like a cricket and from that day forward I have gone by Cricket.
I live in Apex with my two sons and my dog Nutmeg.
