Ms. Linkous

I've called Apex home since 1992! I'm the proud result of Wake County Schools, Apex Middle and High! My teaching career began in 2003, teaching 3rd grade at a charter school at St. Augustine University, in Raleigh. I then spent four years teaching 3rd and 1st grades at Burton Elementary School, in Durham. After teaching in Durham, I took a hiatus and spent time working as a case manager with children who had been exposed to trauma. Though I loved working as a case manager, I was soon back in the classroom. In 2008, I joined Lincoln Heights Elementary, in Fuquay-Varina. At Lincoln Heights, I taught along side my mom, a veteran teacher, for 9 years. There I taught 3rd grade for 8 years and then this past school year I taught Kindergarten. Teaching Kindergarten has reignited my love for teaching!
In addition, to working as a case manager I have the ability to work as a youth leader and counsel gang involved and adjudicated youth in Wake County.
When I'm not teaching, you can find me traveling, spending time with friends and family or my two pit bulls, Haileigh and Highway!
I'm super excited about teaching in the community I love and call home, Apex, and joining a new school family!
