The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered at Apex Friendship High School on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 7:30 a.m. Registration is open September 3 through September 19.The PSAT is a standardized, multiple-choice test that includes three sections: critical reading, mathematics, and writing. The test provides practice for the SAT. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT are automatically screened for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.WCPSS will offer the test free of charge to AFHS juniors who have a GPA of 4.2667 or higher. These students will be contacted directly during the first week of school. All other students who opt to take the exam will pay a $16 fee.WCPSS students can pay through Online School Payment or in Student Services with exact cash or a check made out to AFHS (before or after school, during STAR Lunch). Other students can pay with exact cash or check (made out to "AFHS") in the Student Services reception area of Apex Friendship between 7:30 and 3:00. Fee waivers are available for students based on financial need. All students testing must complete the registration form and submit it, along with payment or receipt of payment, to Student Services.
