Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Maxine Clarke
I was born in Kingston, Jamaica but grew up in Hartford, Connecticut. I attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC and moved to North Carolina in 1999. I now call North Carolina home. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and attended North Carolina Central University to gain my K-6 certification. I am a National Board Certified teacher and I also have a graduate certificate in Academically or Intellectually Gifted Education. This academic year will be my fourteenth year teaching and second year teaching 4th grade. I have a 13 year old daughter who truly enjoys reading and playing the trumpet. Although I was raised in an urban environment, I love to visit the North Carolina Mountains. When not at school, I love reading, spending time with family and friends and knitting. I love to learn, and am constantly finding classes to take and new ways of engaging my students. I am proud to be a member of the Wildcat family.
