Degrees and Certifications:
3-5 Literacy Coach and Intervention
Starting my third year at Olive Chapel but not new to Wake County. I have been growing as an educator engaged in teaching and learning in Wake since 1995. Starting off my first 12 years in Wake County at Leesville Road Elementary as a 4th grade teacher, interventionist, IRT and AIG teacher seeing both of my children (Elyse and Stephen) through the Leesville Campus to graduation. After that, I spent 9 years at Central Office in the Literacy Department, working with ELA and Social Studies curriculum and training and supporting literacy coaches.
My education degree is from Michigan State University with a master's degree earned at Armstrong State College in Savannah, GA. I actually married the same month I graduated from MSU and began my career as a nomad following my military husband around our beautiful country. We made our way from Michigan to Colorado, California, Texas, Georgia and Florida before finally settling in North Carolina, where I am fortunate to have some family living nearby. I am excited to be back at an elementary school working together for all of our students at Olive Chapel.
