Ms. Abbye Jude
Mrs. Jude was born and raised in West Virginia. She is- just as the song describes it- a coal-miner's daughter. Mrs. Jude, along with her husband and two children, moved to Raleigh in 2015. While they miss the wild and wonderful mountains and country roads of West Virginia, they have happily made their home here in North Carolina.
Mrs. Jude received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Marshall University in Communication Disorders in 2006. She worked as a school Speech-Language Pathologist for her local school system in WV for 8 years before moving to NC. She began working for Wake County Public Schools in March, 2015, and she has been with Millbrook Elementary since August 2015. Mrs. Jude is passionate about helping all children communicate to the best of their ability and in whatever form of communication works best for them.
In her spare time, Mrs. Jude enjoys spending time with her husband, her 10 year old daughter, her 8 year old son, and their very playful and active Boston Terrier named Disney. Mrs. Jude and her family are often busy with sports. Both of her children are active in softball, baseball, and basketball. They love watching WVU football and basketball (Go Mountaineers!!!). They also enjoy going out on their boat as well as long and lazy days at the beach.
Why I teach...
I am a Speech Language Pathologist for many reasons. Mostly, there is nothing more fulfilling than giving an individual the power of communication.
