Degrees and Certifications:
Third Grade Track 2
I was born and raised in New York. I attended college at a small school on Long Island, where I earned my bachelors degree in psychology and my masters degree in elementary education. I married my husband Eric in 2006 and we moved to North Carolina in 2008 when I graduated from my Masters program!
My husband and I have an almost 7 year old son named Nate and an almost 3 year old daughter named Laina. You will hear plenty about them throughout the year as they inspire me daily. We have a dog Casey who is almost 12 years old, he is a Papillon. We also have a grumpy 14 year old orange, black, and white cat named Foxy (she has big ears like a fox)!
I started my teaching career in New York as a substitute teacher in the Plainedge School District where I also did my student teaching! When I moved to North Carolina I immediately started teaching at Hunter GT/AG basics Elementary in Raleigh. I started there as a math elective teacher for all grade levels and a 4th grade math coach. The following school year I took a position as a 2nd grade teacher. I taught at Hunter for almost 5 years before moving to Carpenter Elementary to be a 3rd grade teacher! I spent 4 years teaching 3rd grade at Carpenter and 1 year in 2nd grade! This will be my first year teaching at Olive Chapel Elementary and I couldn't be more excited!
