I am very happy to be a kindergarten teacher at Olive Chapel Elementary! I was born in this community and have lived nearby most of my life. I graduated from Meredith College with a K-9 teaching certificate. I am a National Board teacher, and I have taught 30 years in Wake County, mostly kindergarten. I love teaching and encouraging kindergarten children, watching their eyes sparkle as they try new things, and seeing how much they grow socially and academically through the year. Away from school, I enjoy gardening, reading, visiting with our grandchildren, and going to the beach.

My family and I have been in Apex for over 6 years. I am the proud mom of two children. My son is in the second grade and my daughter will be a rising kindergartner starting in July-both at OCE. I was a substitute teacher before I become a part of the OCE team. I have a background in cognition and neuroscience. I enjoy interacting with students and seeing them develop both intellectually and emotionally. I am very excited about my new role and looking forward to all the great adventures to come!
