• Tech Tuesdays Professional Development

    Tech Tuesdays are short professional development sessions where you can learn to use some fun technology tools as part of your instruction. Renewal CEU credit may be possible for taking part in these. Talk with Brian Martin in the Media Center for more information.

    The following sessions are set for the 2016 - 2017 school year. Join us during your planning period for 30 minutes of learning and 15 minutes of application time. Meet in the Media Center.

     1st 7:45 - 8:30

    2nd 9:15 - 10:00

     3rd 10:45 - 11:30

     4th 1:15 - 2:00

     

    September 27 - Collaboration Tools Overview - Bring Your Laptop
    Learn how students can collaborate together using services like Padlet, Today's Meet, Tricider, and Lino

    October 25 - Video Production on iPad - No Device Needed
    Learn how to record video and perform simple editing to create a video production on an iPad

    November 22 - Google Cardboard Virtual Reality - Bring Your Own Smart Phone
    Explore the world in virtual reality. Note you'll need to provide your own Smart Phone for this session. This will be a tool used with BYOD devices, not with school-owned devices.

    December 15 - Socrative & Kahoot - Bring Your Laptop
    Get immediate response from your students using these audience polling tools designed for the classroom.

    January 17 - Google Forms - Bring Your Laptop
    Gather information from visitors on the web, or use it to create digital assessments.

    February 14 - 3-D Printing & Sketchup - Bring Your Laptop
    Learn how to design objects that can be 3-D printed, plus see the 3-D printer in action

    March 14 - Virtual Whiteboard Presentations - No Device Needed
    We'll use an iPad as a whiteboard to record presentations

    April 18 - Digital Video Content & Tools - Bring Your Laptop
    An overview of digital video content available to you, and a few tools that can help you show them in your classroom.

    30 minutes, 10 tools! A quick overview of 10 useful web-based tools that can help you with your instruction. This session moves fast, so be sure to have your coffee before joining us.

     

    Picture iPad Cart - Procedures & Apps Overview - April 5, 2016

    Teachers can learn how to check out our new cart of 30 iPads for classroom use. Basic iPad operation will be covered, as well as an overview of some of the powerful apps you have at your fingertips.
