Science Course Progression
Every high school student must meet state course and credit requirements to graduate from high school. All students must complete 3 science credits which conclude: a physical science course, Biology, and Earth/Environmental Science. Below are several course progression options that we recommend.

Personal Bio: I started teaching in August 2007 at Athens Drive High school and have taught a bajillion courses, but specialize in the physical sciences. I've gotten to participate in some awesome things including completing a summer externship at LORD Corporation's world headquarters in Cary, NC, where I conducted research and designed/ran tests on magnetorheological powder for tactile feedback devices in the electromechanical department. I'm also a SummerSTEM Trainer and Coach for teachers in Wake County, and a planning committee chair for ECET2 NC, a statewide educator leadership conference. I do regular contract work for Pearson scoring NBPTS Assessment Center exercises for physics teachers, and for NC State University reviewing NC Final Exam items for bias and insensitivity. My new favorite is leading teacher workshop sessions in equity, social justice, culturally responsive teaching, and trauma-informed teaching. I'm one of Millbrook's two NCAE representatives and participate on the Racial & Social Justice committee. In my little bits of free time, I enjoy reading, running with my dog, fostering animals for Wake SPCA, playing Pokemon GO, and obsessing over Stranger Things, 80's pop culture, Game of Thrones, and the Foo Fighters.
