Hello, Let me introduce myself. My name is Marla Brautman and I am the Arts Integration Specialist at EM3. I have my Masters in Art Education and have been a teacher for over 20 years. I have two wonderful children in high school, two awesome Dogs, and a great husband. We have been in Raleigh for 14 years. This is my second year at East Millbrook and I am thrilled to help support the Arts in anyway I can.
As an Arts Integration Specialist, I help integrate the Arts into the Core Curriculum as well as provide schoolwide Art Integrated lessons. Such lessons might include creating the Art of Suminagashi in Social Studies to create a map that represents the different populations of an area. Another lesson might include creating a Claymation message in your class to convey a topic message you are studying. We have collaborated this year on multiple Schoolwide lessons to bring positive messages to our school community.
Through the Arts we will build community and strengthen our knowledge of the core subjects.
During Covid-19 there are many possibilities to use our Creative Brain and support our community. As a School we can "Find Our Voice" and "Create Art with a Purpose" Coming soon, you will receive an invite to my arts integration Google Classroom. On this site you will find many opportunities to explore your creativity.
