Incoming Freshman at Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design join our Freshman Leadership Institute. This school-within-a-school environment for our freshmen is designed to acclimate students to high school by supporting them academically and socially. The institute works to support all of the school initiatives as it is the foundation for the students’ high school careers. Freshmen are explicitly taught: problem solving, critical thinking, effective communication, active listening as well as soft skills required for life beyond KHSCD.

Freshman are enrolled in courses designed with  academic and social development in mind to set them up for success here at KHSCD and beyond. One support system built into our curriculum is assigning incoming students an upperclassman a Link Crew Leader. These juniors and seniors will mentor your student throughout their Freshman Experience. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to educate and prepare your student for College, Career and to help start their high school career in a vibrant and engaging way
