Kelli Williams is our full time guidance counselor. Mrs. Williams has a master’s degree in counselor education from the University of NC at Greensboro. She has worked as a counselor for 13 years and has been at Douglas Elementary since 2003.
What is a School Counselor?
A school counselor is a person that helps children solve many kinds of problems, both at home and at school. The school counselor acts as a support person by being a “listening ear”. The school counselor can also be supportive to the stuee3n’s family and teachers.

Coordinates referrals to outside agencies
Counseling Groups can focus on many topics including:
Students and Families can meet with the school counselor during the school day or at other arranged times. Referrals can be made by parents, teachers, other school personnel, as well as students.
Children can experience problems or changes in their lives just as adults do. It can affect them emotionally, physically, and academically. Because we want them to grow and develop in a positive way, finding solutions to their problems or helping them to adjust to changes is very important.
