I consider myself to be a native North Carolinian even though I was actually born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Both of my parents were born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina and I have lived most of my life here. I grew up in Greensboro and then moved to Cary, NC in my junior year of high school. I am a graduate of Cary High School and had the honor of being in the award winning, Cary High School Marching Band. I went to college at Wake Forest University and earned my teaching degree there. I am a veteran teacher with 36 years of experience. I love teaching at Davis Drive Elementary because the faculty and parents are so dedicated to helping every student reach their greatest potential. My husband David and I moved back to Cary in 2000 with our two children Zachary and Jordan. Both of our children graduated from Athens High School and then from Appalachian State University. This will be my seventeenth year teaching at Davis Drive Elementary and I am looking forward to another wonderful year.

I am native North Carolinian, and a proud graduate of Appalachian State University (go Mountaineers!).  After a ten-year career in the business world, I earned my teaching certification from NC Central University, and later earned my Master of School Administration degree from UNC-Chapel Hill.  This is my second year at DDE, and my twelfth year in education.  My wife and I are the proud parents to two fantastic daughters (kindergarten and 4th graders themselves), and one very sweet Golden Doodle.

I have been teaching 4th grade at Davis Drive Elementary since 1998.  I grew up in Virginia, just an hour northwest of DC, and headed to North Carolina when I attended Davidson College.  I earned my Masters in Elementary Education from the College of William and Mary and have been teaching in the North Carolina public schools ever since (Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Wake County).  I have twins, Ian and Sarah, who are 8th graders at Davis Drive Middle School.

I am a North Carolina native.  After receiving my undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from UNC-Charlotte, I traveled and lived in many wonderful places due to my husband’s active duty status with the Marine Corps.  Once we settled in the Atlanta area, I decided to return to school and received my teacher’s certification from North Georgia College and State University.  We moved to Raleigh in 2005, and I started teaching here at DDE.  This will be my 11th year.  My husband, Kevin, and I have a 20 year old daughter, Kathleen, who is a junior at High Point University.

I was born in Bethesda, Maryland, but I spent the first 5 years of my life in Augsburg, Germany where my father was stationed in the army.  After he retired, my family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where I grew up in a lively home with my parents and five siblings.  I graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!!) in 1992 where I earned a Bachelor’s and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.  I taught Kindergarten for two years in Lexington, Kentucky before becoming a stay at home mom for 19 years.  I decided to return to teaching when my youngest started second grade. This will be my 5th year teaching at Davis Drive Elementary School.  I have been married to my husband, Ken, for 28 years and we have four children who have all attended Davis Drive.

I was born in Boston, Mass, but raised in Apex, N.C.  As a graduate of East Carolina University, I am a proud pirate that bleeds purple and gold.  I started teaching at Davis Drive Elementary as a Reading Resource Specialist.  I later moved on to become a second grade classroom teacher.  After my second year teaching fourth grade, I switched from teaching all subjects to only teaching math, science, and social studies.
