This year will mark by 40th year as an educator in the public schools of North Carolina, having taught all grades K - 5 at some point in time. I have taught at DDE since the school opened in 1995. I am a NC native (Lenoir, NC), a graduate of Appalachian State University, and have my Middle Childhood Generalist certification (NBPTS). I am an avid sports fan (GO UNC, Panthers, and Hurricanes!). In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Tim, playing with our three cats and four God sons, crocheting, and reading.

Since Davis Drive opened its doors in 1995, I have been a part of this amazing school.  My name is Denise Fletcher and I have been teaching for 32 years. I taught 1st grade for over 20 years and currently teaching 2nd grade.  In Georgia I received my BS as well as my Masters in Early Childhood Education.  Since moving to North Carolina, I received the title of being a National Board Certified Teacher and I also got my Reading Specialist Degree. My husband, Bobby, and I have been married for over 35 years and we have 2 grown sons Byron and Mitch.  Monday through Friday, I will give it my all and teach children to the best of my ability, but on Saturday's you will see me watching college football (How 'Bout Them DAWGS!), reading, and shopping. I am looking forward to this new school year!

The WCPSS has been my teaching "home" for many enjoyable years and I absolutely love teaching school at Davis Drive Elementary! This will be my 36th year teaching school.:) I have taught 2nd through 6th grade and spent 23 years as an AIG teacher, and have consulted in kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms. In my family, I have a wonderful husband, who builds houses, a very tall teenage son, who is in high school, 2 Great Danes, 3 sassy cats, 4 huge goldfish and an African Dwarf Frog. I am from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and we have been living in Raleigh for 29 years. We love going to the beach, to the pool, where I teach swimming lessons, and love spending time with our family and friends. I always keep in mind that I am working with someone's precious angel and I love finding many things to appreciate about each child that I have in the classroom. This is going to be another wonderful year at Davis Drive Elementary School!

I have been in education all of my life.  I am from Ohio, where I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education.  We moved to North Carolina in 1988, and I have been in love with the South ever since.  I have worked in Kindergarten through Fifth grade.  Second grade is where I began this wonderful journey, and it is where I am now.  I am so blessed to be at Davis Drive!!

My name is Jana Taulman and this is my 23rd year of teaching. I started teaching in Kentucky after I received my Bachelor's Degree from Campbellsville College in Kentucky . I earned my Master's Degree six year's later from the University of Louisville. I taught third and fourth grade in Kentucky for 17 years before moving here. After I arrived in North Carolina, things in my life changed and I stayed home with my children until 2009 when I taught fourth grade at Apex Elementary for one year before coming to Davis Drive as an Intervention teacher for 4th and 5th grade. In 2011, I started teaching third grade and this year I will be teaching second grade.

I am married to Paul and have three children, Robbie, Deana, and Ethan. Paul and I live in Apex and have a dog, Buckeye. Ethan is a Sophomore at Campbell University. Rob owns his own landscaping company in Kentucky and Deana is a pediatrician in her third year of residency at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago. We are all big University of Kentucky Fans.  I love m&m's as much as I love teaching second grade.
