Wake County schools will undergo curriculum changes in the 2012-13 school year due to North Carolina’s adoption of the new Common Core State Standards and the N.C. Essential Standards.

These new guidelines describe the essential skills and knowledge that students master annually and provide parents with a clear and common understanding of what their child is expected to learn and know.
