National Bullying Prevention Month

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. And DDMS has pledged to support our students and create a bully-free environment.

Using resources developed by the PACER Center, students are asked to help support each other as peer intervention is an effective way to stop bullying situations.

This month, students will:

  • use the morning announcements to raise awareness
  • read and sign the 'Stand Up, Speak Out, Be A Hero' Pledge
  • sign a 'Be a Hero' poster to show support for their homeroom
  • support Unity Day on October 25 - everyone is encouraged to wear orange! unity day 10/25 wear orange

Stand Up, Speak Out, Be a Hero Pledge

This is for me
my friends today
And my friends tomorrow.

I won't watch someone get picked on
Because I am a do something person
not a do nothing person.

I care

I can help change things
I can be a leader
In my world there are no bullies allowed.
I know sticking up for someone is the right thing to do.
