3-31-17 Bimonthly Principal Bulletin
Parent Communication
After this Bimonthly Bulletin, we will transition away from a phone reminder for the Bimonthly Bulletin and only send the bulletin via text message and email. If you did not receive this Bimonthly Bulletin via text and email, we do not have your accurate contact information in the right place in PowerSchool. To update your contact information, complete the Student Contact Form on our website under forms. It is also linked here for your convenience. To manage your preferences, you will have to create a parent infocenter account by clicking here. To receive text messages specifically, you will have to text "yes" to the number 67587. Thank you for your patience as we make this transition in conjunction with WCPSS.
Parent College Panel, Principal’s Chat for Prom and Graduation, and PTSA General Membership Meeting
Please join us on Tuesday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the media center. We will have a panel of parents with current college students to provide you with helpful hints for a smooth transition from high school to college. We will also provide important information on this year’s prom, graduation, and other important events for seniors. Lastly, the evening will conclude with an important PTSA meeting to approve next year’s officers and budget. The evening is intended for parents of current seniors but anyone is welcome.
Prom
The LRHS Prom will be held on May 6, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m at the Crabtree Valley Marriot. The theme will be Welcome to Wonderland. Tickets will be sold online at a reduced price of $35 from April 1 through April 30. Please visit our homepage for important information and instructions. Tickets will also be sold at a reduced price of $35 on campus during lunch on April 21 and April 22. Tickets will be sold on campus on May 1 and May 2 for the full price of $45. May 2 is the last day to purchase a ticket for the prom. Tickets will not be sold after May 2. No tickets will be sold at the door on May 6.
Carpool
Your child’s safety is our first concern. Recently we have observed morning and afternoon car pool students being dropped off and picked up behind and to the side of the school instead of the designated loop in front of the school. Parent vehicles entering and exiting in the back are crossing in front of students who have the right of way, many times without regard to student safety. Only student drivers and vehicles which have been approved due to special transportation issues are permitted to enter the back access road. Additionally, our afternoon special transportation vehicles are having difficulty finding space due to the number of unapproved afternoon car pool pick-ups in the back circle. Afternoon pick-up should also be at the front of the school. Dropping off and picking up your child in the front of the school allows for a safe and efficient carpool for all.
