PTA Letter to Parents
DRMS Families:
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! As we head into the final month of 2015, I would like to give you an update on what your PTA is doing!
First, we are finishing up the second quarter! I hope that your student is having a great academic year! The PTA continues to work to support our students academic needs as well as other important areas. Every teacher who is a member of our PTA can apply for a PTA mini-grant from the PTA up to $250. Current approved grants have been used specifically to enhance learning in the classroom.
On the technology front, the PTA has purchased lamented sheets that convert old-style blackboards into white boards for all 8th grade class rooms. We were also very happy to work the fall Book Fair where we raised funds to purchase books and other needed items for the Media Center.
The PTA will hold a brief general meeting this Wednesday, December 2nd at 6:45 PM to share more information with you! This is right before the Bring Your Own Device to school parent meeting at 7:00 PM. We are always looking for new volunteers who can help our school!! If you are wanting to learn how you can help, please let us know your interests!
We work to make sure our teachers & staff know how much we appreciate them! The PTA has hosted Teachers' Appreciation luncheons on each Early Release day this school year! This coming Friday, December 4th, we will be presenting teachers with homemade baked cookies to help kick off the Holiday season! Please consider signing up on the below SignUpGenius if you are able to help bake cookies for this wonderful event!
Fall sports start this week at DRMS! Come out and support our Boys & Girls Basketball teams! First home game is Tuesday, December 1st! at 4:00 PM Help support our student athletes and our partner parent organization The Sports Booster Clubs by purchasing concession items during sports or by purchasing a Booster Club membership today!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Holiday Season!
