The Moore Square family had an exciting week last week. We have been named a Magnet Schools of America School of Distinction. We also learned on Friday that we are the recipient of an Active Learning Spaces grant that will allow us to transform many spaces in the building into collaborative, active learning spaces. The most impressive news is that 8th grader Lilly Culbreth earned 2nd chair viola in the North Carolina Junior Eastern District Honors Orchestra. One hundred students auditioned for honors orchestra. Congratulations Lilly!
The PTSA is seeking parents interested in serving in a leadership capacity during the 2017-18 school year. The interest form can be found on our school website under announcements.
The Ligon/Moore Square softball team travels to East Garner on Monday. The boys’ and girls’ track teams travel to Martin to compete against Martin and North Garner on Tuesday. Boys’ soccer is at Martin on Wednesday. Softball hosts Martin on Thursday. All events begin at 4pm.
Students will receive their 3rd quarter report cards on Tuesday. Be sure to check pockets and backpacks for those report cards.
