WCPSS now provides transportation information in Home Base
Families can now find their student’s transportation information online using the Home Base Student Information System.
The effort was a joint project between the WCPSS Technology Services and Transportation departments. Families already using the Home Base Student Information System will find a new tab on their student’s page with transportation information. Families who want access to Home Base can register through their school. Find more information at https://www.wcpss.net/Domain/69
Families using Home Base will now see:
· Transportation Status – Does your student have an assigned bus stop? Is your student transported by a vendor? Does your family live in the No Transport/Walk Zone?
· Transportation Type – Does your student have a neighborhood or express bus stop?
· Route Description – the school’s route number or name
· Stop Location – the location where the yellow school bus stops, or the address where vendors pick up your student
Since 2013-14, students in middle and high school have used Home Base Student Information to track grades and attendance. WCPSS Technology built a process to add the transportation information to Home Base,
Everyone stays connected with Home Base, also known as Power School. Students stay on top of assignments, parents are able to participate in their child's progress and teachers can instantly share information from their gradebook with parents and students. Families with multiple students can set up their accounts to view all of their students at one time, with one login.
During this past school year, WCPSS elementary school families received information from their schools about establishing Home Base Student Information accounts. Elementary parents will be able to see attendance and contact information as well as the transportation data. Grades aren’t available at the elementary level at this time.
