Percentage of students with knowledge of financial literacy concepts - banking, savings, investing
In the Spring of 2016, a sample of WCPSS high school juniors were asked five questions about basic financial literacy covering topics such as simple interest calculations, mortgages, and inflation. These five questions were taken from the 2015 National Financial Capability Study conducted by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Nationally, 37% of adults answered at least four of the five questions correctly in 2015. For WCPSS high school juniors in 2016, 15% answered at least four of the five questions correctly. See http://www.usfinancialcapability.org/ for more information on the national FINRA survey.
