Transportation Prepares for Start of School: It takes a lot of work to make sure our buses are ready to roll and drivers are trained and in place for the first day of a new school year.
Kindergarten Orientation at Timber Drive: The beginning of a new school year is an exciting time for all our students but it can also be a little scary for our kindergartners who are entering school for the first time. A program at Timber Drive Elementary is teaching students how to use the school’s media center and computer lab.
Students Enter Wake Early College of Health and Sciences: The beginning of the 2006-07 school year marked the beginning of an exciting new adventure for one group of high school freshman who are the first students to attend Wake County ’s newest high school concept – The Wake Early College of Health and Sciences.
Answer Man: Jeff Nash introduces members of the Superintendent’s Leadership Team.
Chief Business Officer: David Neter is the school system’s new chief business officer. He is charged with increasing the fiscal accountability of the school system
Capital Improvement Program: In November, Wake County voters will decide whether or not to approve a bond referendum to help fund the school system’s newest capital improvement program. Superintendent Del Burns explained how the program will help the system provide space for the thousands of additional children who will be moving into Wake County through 2010 at a rally held recently in downtown Raleigh.
Student Performance: The chorus at Lufkin Road Middle School in Apex sings I Pledge Allegiance under the guidance of choral director Bert Fox.
