The School Connection - July 2005

You can watch the following segments from The School Connection by clicking on each link (you will need the free QuickTime Player from Apple):

Year-Round Schools: Even though it's the middle of summer, students and staff at our year-round schools remain hard at work.

Professional Development for Teachers: Many of our teachers use their time off in the summer to take professional development classes to improve their existing skills and learn some brand new ones.

Preparing for the Opening of Cedar Fork Elementary: Whether it's a modular school or a permanent building, opening a new school takes a lot of planning and hard work -- much of which takes place over the summer months.

Bus and School Maintenance: With most of our students on summer break, now is the perfect time for our mechanics, maintenance staff and custodians to get our buses and buildings cleaned and in good working condition before the start of the new school year.

Modular Schools: WCPSS will be opening five new schools this coming year -- three of which are being built as modular schools. Find out how these schools are more similar to our brick-and-mortar schools than you might think.

Performance: Enjoy a musical performance by the chorus at Lufkin Road Middle School.
