Mission Statements Important to School-to-Career of Wake County

Besides following it's own mission, School-to-Career must align itself with other missions to ensure alignment with the overall mission of student learning. Following are missions that School-to-Career strives to align with.

School-to-Career

The mission of School-to-Career is to prepare every student to make knowledgeable career choices through academic rigor and work-based learning experiences. This requires a systematic, comprehensive, community-wide effort.

North Carolina State Board of Education

The guiding mission of the North Carolina State Board of Education is that every public school student will graduate from high school, globally competitive for work and postsecondary education and prepared for life in the 21st Century.

The Wake County Public School System will educate each student to be a responsible and productive citizen who can effectively manage future challenges.

WCPSS Career and Technical Education

The mission of Career and Technical Education is to provide offerings that meet student needs, interests, abilities, and aspirations and respond to actual or anticipated opportunities for employment, advanced education, and practical life application. The Career and Technical Education Section promotes best practices that enhance teacher effectiveness to improve student achievement and encourage responsible career choices.

School-Based Business Alliances

The mission of each business alliance is to provide support and workplace realities for teachers and students and to be a catalyst for engaging business and community organizations to prepare all students to be career focused and globally competitive.

Individual Schools
