Teacher Certification

The preferred route for earning Career and Technical Education licensure is from a college or university program approved by the State Board of Education, but provisional certification may be used under some circumstances. Provisional requirements specify the degree requirement, work experiences, and/or course work for establishing licensure. Persons interested in provisional entry should work closely with the Senior Administrator responsible for the desired program area and with the Human Resource Administrator responsible for the level in which they plan to teach to determine what they must do to obtain certification. Regulations and requirements are outlined in the State Department of Public Instruction Licensure for Public School Officials Manual.
