CTE Instructional Specialists
CTE Instructional Specialists provide support to CTE teachers and other CTE personnel within the local school system for implementation, management, and maintenance of VoCATS to improve teaching performance and student outcomes.
Following are ways they can serve CTE teachers:
- Provides staff development to assist CTE teachers in successfully implementing and monitoring a competency-based instructional management model and student achievement tracking system (VoCATS).
- Assists CTE teachers in developing pacing guides/yearly plans of instruction, including lesson plans designed to correlate with the Standard Course of Study.
- Serves as a resource to CTE teachers as they identify, evaluate, and recommend curriculum materials appropriate to the Standard Course of Study and student needs.
- Assists CTE teachers in developing strategies for individualized instruction and improving student learning.
- Provides technical assistance to teachers in the operation of the VoCATS related software (CMS95); troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Targets assistance to new CTE teachers and lateral entry teachers on the implementation of VoCATS.
