- Business Technologies contacts at NC DPI. (PDF 108 KB) is a listing of current DPI BITE and ME Consultants with contact information. DECA and FBLA Websites are also provided.
- E-mail discussion groups for teachers (PDF 176 KB) provides an opportunity for Marketing teachers to join a listserv. To join this group, email Trey Michael directly at amichael@dpi.state.nc.us.
- Staff development opportunities (PDF 140 KB) is a list of DPI sponsored events that are eligible for travel reimbursement if you are approved to attend. Note the * indicates events approved for WCPSS CTE funding. You may attend other events at your own expense.
- TechSmith Educator Resources (Word 140 KB) is a must read for those of you who want to enhance your PowerPoint presentations and WebPages. Sites provided for more in-depth information.
- DECA Competitive Events Changes for 2007-2008 (Word 220 KB) gives an overview of changes all advisors need to be aware of. A 2007 DECA Handbook has been ordered for each school.
- Financial Literacy Information (Word 32 KB) contains information about Practical Money Skills for Life: Visa USA and National Endowment for Financial Education.
- Hop On The Bus is a state-wide business plan competition for high school aged youth in North Carolina. This is an opportunity for our teens to gain experience and knowledge about entrepreneurship and putting innovative ideas into action.
Textbook Adoption
Information specific to WCPSS will be provided in an email to each Marketing Education teacher. Representatives are needed to serve on the 2007-08 Textbook Adoption Committee.
- October 2007 - State Board of Education adopts a list of new textbooks
- November 2007 - Regional meetings for school selection committees to see newly adopted materials
- March 2008 - Orders for new materials are due
Monthly Meeting Schedule
Review the attached meeting schedule and email Dixie Newsome the month that you will make a presentation to the group on activities/strategies you find to be beneficial to your classes. John Evans, Apex HS, will make the same presentation (Sports and Entertainment Marketing Projects) that he made at the 2007 DPI Summer Conference at the October meeting.
