or above Level III on VoCATS postassessment tests.
CTE 95% in 2008 - Goal Attainment Formula
To determine each school's intermediate goals to reach the WCPSS CTE Goal 2008 of having 95% of our CTE students performing at or above Level III on VoCATS postassessment tests:
- Start with school's 2004 performance level.
- Subtract that number from 95 to determine the difference between your school's performance level and the goal.
- Divide that number by 4 to determine the yearly rate of growth needed to reach the goal.
- Add that growth rate to your school's 2004 performance level and each year thereafter to establish your yearly goals.
The example for the school system's goal is as follows:
- 2004 performance level = 64.2
- Difference to the 95% goal 95 - 64.2 = 30.8
- Yearly rate of growth 30.8 / 4 = 7.7
- Therefore:
- 2004 level = 64.2%
- 2005 goal = 71.9%
- 2006 goal = 79.6%
- 2007 goal = 87.3%
- 2008 goal = 95.0%
This formula can be used to set goals for the school system, your school, a particular content area, and even a specific teacher. Set your goal today!
