Course Equipment Lists

Some general equipment is needed for all CTE programs. Additional equipment is needed to teach specific CTE courses.

Information about the equipment needed can be found in the North Carolina Career and Technical Education Equipment Guide, which can be downloaded from the NC DPI Equipment Guide web page.

Offering a new course

To offer a course not listed in the NCDPI Programs of Study or WCPSS High School and Middle School Planning Guides requires a request for modification that must include a content outline, course blueprint, and a 100 question pre- and post-test for VoCATS. The curriculum guide must also be written in accordance with Wake County Public School System guidelines. Complete the Request to Offer Career and Technical Education Courses form (PDF 62 KB) and send it with the other materials to the appropriate Senior Administrator by November 1 for review. The course request must be filed with NCDPI by December of the year prior to the year of implementation.

To request an alternate course placement for an OCS student, complete the Request for Alternate Course Placement for OCS Students form (Word 38 KB) and submit it to the CTE Director at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the semester.
