Description

Holly Springs High School opened in the fall of 2006, fortunate to have opened as a “town” high school. Since that opening, the school has shown itself to be worthy of civic pride. Holly Springs High has earned a reputation for academic excellence, and is designated a North Carolina "School of Distinction with High Growth”. In 2010, Newsweek magazine recognized Holly Springs High School as one of the top high schools in the nation. In 2011, The Washington Post also named Holly Springs High School as one of the top high schools in the nation. In the field of the humanities and arts the school has established a strong community presence, with outstanding dance and fine arts programs. And, on the fields of competition, Golden Hawk athletes take a backseat to no other. In 2011 the school’s baseball team won the North Carolina 4A state championship.

Holly Springs High School has implemented numerous programs that engage students and contribute to the school’s strong reputation. One example is the innovative Hawks on Task (HOT) Lunch – which enables students to attend tutorials, club meetings, and participate in intramural sports during an hour long lunch. And, with 15 Advanced Placement courses and a rigorous honors program, Holly Springs’ teachers promote excellence in every academic field.

With great support from our town, community and parents, Holly Springs High School continues to work towards our mission to establish a model of excellence that ensures life-long learning of 21st century skills for all students in order to become productive and responsible citizens.
